Greg is a great example of how the collaboration between Ace and the great, nearby Snead State Community College Aviation College is delivering for our community. This area is full of talent, and this pathway opens the door for hardworking young people like Greg to access fulfilling aviation career fields without having to leave home and family. Congratulations on earning your A&P, and keep up the great work, Greg! #AceAeronautics #MadeinAlabama #aceaero #guntersville #guntersvilleal
I’d like to take moment and congratulate Greg Cooper, one of our Jr. Mechanics, on obtaining his FAA Airframe and Powerplant license! Cooper is a product of Snead State Community College’s aviation program in Albertville, AL. He came onboard with me at Ace Aeronautics, LLC as a part of a Jr. mechanic to Mechanic 1 program that I have had the privilege of starting this past year. This is something that I have wanted to do for many years and Ace gave me that opportunity. I partnered with Snead State and Nicholas Sauls last year to make this happen. The goal is to bring young mechanics that are half way through Snead’s A&P class into the work place early so that they can learn from senior mechanics. The intention is that they get hands on experience, make money while in school, and set themselves up for a great career whether it be with Ace or move onto other interests in aviation. It’s proven to be a very rewarding experience and the senior mechanics enjoy teaching and becoming mentors. So far the program is thriving and Cooper has been the first to obtain his license. He’s going to make one hell of a great aircraft electrician. There aren’t many programs out there that give non-military folks the opportunity to walk in and start wrenching on a Blackhawk without having to join the military first. Ace Aeronautics is proud to be one of those companies and give a few young Marshall County locals this opportunity. Again, congratulations Cooper!
