This Recovery Month was a busy one! Our Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services made appearances at local events, gave presentations and training to our staff, participated in the Pittsburgh Recovery Walk and held a Recovery Fun Day Celebration with an activities and an art show that celebrated the creativity and resilience of individuals on their recovery journey.

Congratulations to the DHS Area Agency on Aging and partnering providers for being one of 6 awardees sharing in a $2.8 Million grant from the Administration for Community Living. Thanks to the ACL, we’re creating 12 housing units equipped with state-of-the-art health and safety innovations for older adults who require emergency housing when they must leave their homes quickly due to abuse.

Join us in making the critical decisions for our future. Allegheny County is receiving millions of dollars each year from lawsuit settlements against opioid manufacturers and distributors. We want your input on how to use the funds to address harms caused by the opioid epidemic.
