We love doing these jobs! Thank you to U of M Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory.
As promised, here is the big reveal! The MHL is now the proud owner of a 1:32 scale Office of Naval Research - Tumblehome (ONR-T) model hull. The new hull is so large it can fit our 1:48.9 scale ONR-T inside it with ballast to spare! The MHL staff will be spending the next few weeks preparing the model for her first in-water tests, so stay tuned for more pics and videos of our new beast! A special shout-out to Accurate Pattern, Inc. for all the amazing work they did on this model. This is the fourth model hull that we have partnered with Accurate Pattern on fabricating since I've worked here, and the shared experience over the years between our two teams definitely shows on this beauty!

We are so proud to be a sponsor of Wisconsin Racing! Accurate Pattern will be machining cockpit plugs for the team to use on their new race car. Some of their wonderful team visited our shop to work on their stock for their monocoque! We are excited to see the finished product!

Check out one of our hardest workers here at API - the "5-O". This is our largest DMS router. With 11' in the X and 16' in the Y, we have the capability to machine large format patterns with ease. From stock to finish, a typical lead time for a project like this is 3-4 weeks. If you think this job is big, just wait to see what we're machining next week!
