Who wouldn't like a great meal with great company? We want to reduce social isolation and bring people together as much as possible. That’s why we teamed up with the St. John’s United Church in Oakville and Oakville Meals On Wheels to provide a community lunch to older adults in the area! Attendees could form new friendships while enjoying a a delicious three-course meal that included a garden salad, butter chicken, ice cream with berries and more. The tasty meal was followed by a singalong, featuring classics like “Blue Suede Shoes” and “What a Wonderful World” What a day! Today is Children's Grief Awareness Day, which is an important time to shine a light on children who are grieving and uncover ways to help them feel more supported and less alone. Patty's Place was packed last night! Together we recognized RBC's incredible support for the United Way Halton & Hamilton and the many programs the United Way supports - including our dementia care, caregiver support, and bereavement support services. We heard from several wonderful speakers, including the amazing Judy who spoke firsthand about how programs supported by UW have changed lives. We were also thrilled to witness RBC pledge $200,000 to UW (now you no longer have to wonder what that 200K in the picture means!) We ate, drank, mingled, sang, reunited with friends, made new ones, and created plans to make the future brighter. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!

Today is National Grief and Bereavement Day, which is a very important occasion for us, because it recognizes a universal experience that we strive to help people navigate. We understand that grief can be very difficult, but it can be much easier to go through if you connect with others and yourself.
