At Accessibility Ireland we believe that everyone, including people with disabilities, must have equal access to digital information, products and services. In Ireland today, many people are locked out of websites and digital products due to inaccessibility and this is something that we want to help change. As digital accessibility is everyone's responsibility, we want to build a community of advocates in Ireland that will help promote the importance of accessibility and inclusion in everything that is digitally delivered.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Dublin UX event in partnership with UXDX. The event covered a broad range of topics, starting with the upcoming European Accessibility Act (EAA) guidelines, set to take effect in early 2025. One of the highlights was the insightful discussion on how to prepare, design, and test projects to ensure compliance with these new guidelines, emphasising the importance of considering accessibility from the very start of any project. Thanks to the panel speakers— Patrick M., Gareth Crossan, Mick Keane (he/him), and Karen Hawkins, CPACC—for their valuable insights. ???? We also had the pleasure of hearing Nadine Piecha share her expertise on UX research, discussing how teams can effectively conduct research using various methods tailored to their project needs. ???? I would like to thank Derek Jones, Lisa Byrne, and iCabbi for giving me the opportunity to attend this workshop and connect with the design community. It was truly a rewarding experience. ??

I really enjoyed the?Inclusive Digital Health Session at M-Enabling. It was great to see the insights provided by Mick Keane (he/him). A lot of food for thought where Digital Accessibility meets TeleHealth with the caveats of AI, biases, the understanding of patient needs and the overall adoption of inclusion design.
