ACCESS Mental Health, INC was developed in 2021, as a result of a small group of individuals collaborating their efforts to create a program for the Bay Area community in California that provides comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families seeking support and guidance to improve their lives. Mental Health concerns have increasingly become a topic of interest in many arenas in recent years, and the need for support continues to accelerate throughout the country. As our lives continue to become more and more complex and challenges arise, we are dedicated to provide those in need with as much support and guidance as possible. Our team of dedicated and experienced professionals are looking forward to partnering with you to explore and navigate different ways to overcome life's challenges. Initially known as Spread Your Wings for Mental Health, INC, we decided to change our company name to display our acknowledgement of the complexities and numerous barriers people face that require the ability to "access" all the available resources and find a "path to their wellness". Every journey begins with the first step, and all of us at ACCESS Mental Health, INC are ready to provide you with the support and encouragement you seek.

This day is not only a celebration of freedom but also a powerful reminder of resilience, strength, and the ongoing journey towards equality and justice. As we commemorate this important day, let’s also acknowledge the profound impact that historical and systemic injustices have had on mental health within the Black community. The scars of the past continue to affect many, and it’s crucial that we recognize, support, and uplift one another. ?? Here are some ways we can honor Juneteenth while promoting mental well-being: 1?? Educate Yourself and Others: Learn about the history of Juneteenth and the experiences of African Americans. 2?? Understanding history is a step towards healing. Support Black Mental Health: Highlight and utilize resources like therapy directories focused on Black mental health professionals. 3?? Practice Self-Care: Take time to reflect, rest, and recharge. Self-care is a powerful act of resistance and healing. 4?? Engage in Community: Participate in local Juneteenth events and connect with your community. Shared experiences foster strength and solidarity. 5?? Advocate for Change: Use your voice to advocate for systemic changes that support mental health equity and justice for all.
