This past Saturday, we held the first-ever CUDA Mode IRL hackathon, hosted by Accel in collaboration with PyTorch and NVIDIA. What initially started as a reading group pioneered by Mark Saroufim and Andreas K?pf, evolved into an incredible 14-hour event in SF. Highlights: ??? The hackathon went from 10 a.m. to midnight, and 200 developers from all over the world joined us ?? Six technical talks from industry leaders, including Tri Dao (Flash Attention 3), Supriya Rao (PyTorch), and Andrej Karpathy (Eureka Labs, llm.c) ???????Hands-on hacking sessions guided by experts ?? Evening presentations by Lily (Xiaoxuan) Liu (vLLM), Tim Dettmers (how open source can win), and Wen-mei Hwu (NVIDIA) ?? 40+ team submissions with top projects winning tons of compute credits + 4080s signed by Jensen Huang The event showcased the latest in GPU optimizations, performance tuning, and scalable inference. It was inspiring to see this community come together IRL, share knowledge, and push the boundaries of what's possible in the space.
