Twelve Retirees Honored Twelve AUHSD retirees were honored by the Governing Board in May for their work and commitment to the students of the AUHSD. The retirees provided over 250 years of service to AUHSD students and many more years at other districts prior to coming to the AUHSD. They will be missed and we hope they will not be strangers to the District. https://lnkd.in/gW6m8qSu

Congratulations to our Graduates! Nothing captures the outstanding contributions of all staff like the commencement ceremonies and the stories each student brings to these culminating events.?All students have their unique journey, and it is the hard work of teachers, support staff and students that make the high school passage successful.

Wonderful display in the Campolindo High School Library celebrating our two recent teacher authors - Lisa Herzig & China Harvey and their new book Teaching Beyond the Time Line. Thanks Librarian Liz Herring!

AUHSD is very proud of China Harvey (LLHS teacher) and Lisa Herzig (CHS teacher) who have collaboratively developing a resource for other teachers in the District and far beyond. They wrote and published (Heinneman, April 2024) a guide to support teachers who shift to thematic teaching of history.?“A more fundamental shift in the way we teach history needs to occur for our students to be truly engaged and see how U.S. history is relevant to their own lives. When students engage and see the relevance of events in the past, they think critically and learn to make meaningful connections, and create a more inclusive classroom.”
