Yesterday, our very own Barrett Broussard, CDM, CFPP, Director of Nutritional Services and current State Chairman of the Board for the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP), served as the guest speaker and co-chair for the Spring Healthcare Seminar and Food Showcase in Lafayette. This event brought together certified dietary managers, dietitians, and administrators from across Louisiana. We are incredibly proud and grateful to have Barrett's expertise and leadership as part of the Acadia St. Landry Hospital team!

We are proud to announce that two of our outstanding team members have been selected for the 2025 Leadership Excel cohort, a prestigious program led by the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Carrie Guidry will represent The Point Primary Care, and Melanie Roge’ will represent Acadia St. Landry Hospital in this year-long leadership development program. Designed to enhance leadership skills and deepen community knowledge, Leadership Excel equips participants with hands-on training in areas such as team building, effective communication, decision-making, and media relations. The program also fosters a deeper understanding of key community issues, including government, education, the judicial system, and environmental concerns. That’s why?Acadia St. Landry Hospital?is proud to partner with the?American Lung Association?through the?Louisiana Lung Cancer Screening Initiative—working to?increase early detection, improve health equity, and reduce lung cancer mortality rates?across our region. Through this initiative,?Low-Dose Lung CT screenings?are available for?eligible individuals, providing a critical tool for detecting lung cancer at its?earliest, most treatable stage. By addressing?barriers to care, we are ensuring more people—especially those in underserved areas—have access to?preventive screenings?that can save lives. Early Detection Saves Lives?– The earlier lung cancer is identified, the greater the chance of successful treatment.
