It's hard to believe that it's been five years since the COVID-19 pandemic. During such a challenging time for everyone at Academy, one of the most inspiring stories emerged. Our dedicated drivers and staff worked tirelessly to transport out-of-town nurses who came to New York City to support local hospital staff. Over months of working to care for patients, the drivers and nurses formed a special bond through their daily interactions. The nurses deeply appreciated our drivers and found comfort in seeing a familiar face each day. Thank you to our drivers, staff and these nurses for creating some joy during a unique and stressful time. We know the way!

Another busy and amazing NFL season has wrapped up. We're incredibly grateful to the teams across the league who trust our staff and drivers with their transportation needs. From training camp through Super Bowl LIX, we operated more than 100 game moves - including, inbound airport transfers, gameday operations, and outbound airport transfers - across 11 markets for every team in the league. The NFL continues to be a key part of our sports business, and we can't wait to kick things off again this summer!

Last Friday was our first day operating a short-term contract service for the The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey moving commuters from the Hoboken, New Jersey PATH Station to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. The Hoboken Station is closing for a month due to track work and other construction projects. Our main operation for this contract is supplementing NJ TRANSIT's Route 126 service from Hoboken to Manhattan. We're excited to assist both agencies with this important service in our hometown. We know the way!

Another runDisney Marathon week in the books. We cannot say enough good things about our staff and drivers who worked overnight hours and braved cold temperatures to again deliver for our client. Further our staff maintains a close relationship with the event organizers and provides feedback during the planning process to ensure a smooth operation. Next up. The Princess Half-Marathon week in late February. We know the way!

Kicking off the new year in Miami for the annual Capital One Orange Bowl Game. This year's edition is also a semi-final of the College Football Playoff featuring Notre Dame and Penn State. Our staff has been part of the planning process for months and moved quickly once the teams advanced to the semi-final game. Academy has moved the Orange Bowl for decades and appreciates our continued relationship through the College Football Playoff era. We know the way!

Congratulations to Baltimore driver London. . Last week he was selected by the Maryland Motorcoach Association as driver of the year. . London is a recent Towson University graduate who worked for the University's transportation department as a student. He's been working with us since July of 2023. . He was recommended for the award by several colleagues at our Baltimore terminal because of his quick transition to motorcoaches, his daily effort to improve and his willingness to learn. . To date London has operated line runs, commuter operations, charters for professional teams and universities plus overnight excursions. . London is making quite the impact at such a young age.

Lori Parr, (Sales - Baltimore), Maryann Bellissima, and Antonio Ramos are meeting with travel coordinators to review 2024 and preview 2025. Did you know?
