On August 14th, 2024, the World Health Organization declared the rise of mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and surrounding areas, a public health emergency of international concern. This outbreak is of the virulent Clade 1 variant, which can have death rates of up to 10% for those infected. Customized antibody formats through recombinant production can help researchers tailor sensitivity and specificity of diagnostic assays in development, as well as study virus neutralization in immune models for vaccine development, all while ensuring recombinant production consistency and scalability.
