As a teenager, George Salinas was enrolled at Holmes High School. His father had left the family and by his own admission, he was a part-time student. But he didn't leave the campus empty handed. George met his eventual wife at Holmes and was first introduced to the electrical trade in a high school elective class there. A few years later, George ventured out to launch his own company. In 2005, he started Absolute Power Electrical Contractors in the garage of his modest home. He recalls an early company Christmas party he hosted in his back yard, with a couple of employees, fast-food chicken nuggets and a few non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. These days, the holiday parties are much nicer, and George runs his company while taking good care of his employees, even if it means funding them as they further their education. Next year he will celebrate a major milestone for the company, that continues to grow with close family members by his side.??
