Last week was #K9VeteransDay ???? MEET GARTH & RICCO! ???? Garth is a retired 7-year-old Great Dane that was given to Keegan Merritt, an active Army combat veteran and peer support specialist at AboutFace-USA, after he was injured in the line of duty as a police officer. Garth also initiated the service dog program for the Georgia State Patrol! ?? Ricco is a 15-month old sheep/doodle purchased by the state of Georgia to assist first responders and veterans. Although he is still in training, he's enthusiastic and loves his job! ?? We commend Garth and Ricco, for their service and dedication, as well as Keegan, who was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and twice to Afghanistan in 2007 and 2010. ??
