Please enjoy this poem written by our Neighbor Doug: Being alone but not being lonely Doesn’t mean you care about yourself only It means you found your comfort zone So now of yourself you can loan ? Loan your smile and loan your spirit You show for life no need to fear it Giving of yourself brings selflessness It’s true of that I can confess ? You can be lonely in a crowd Even when you cry out loud But being alone can really be fun Knowing your not the only one!!!

Our Volunteer Sharon and Neighbor Anamarie are planning for the Holidays. They have been talking on the phone for about four years now, and this is the 2nd time they visited each other in person. These friendships are what makes About Care so special. Please enjoy their visit - Our team appreciates your following our posts over the years. #volunteersneeded #VolunteerAppreciation #VolunteerSpotlight #servingourcommunity #ServingSeniors

The Friends of the Orpheum President David Stevenson and About Care's Steven Harvey attended the Arizona Theatre Company's holiday musical Scrooge at the Tempe Center for the Arts on Saturday evening. The Friends of the Orpheum donates tickets for their performances to About Care's Annual Golf Tournaments for its silent auctions. It is generous organizations like the Friends of the Orpheum Theatre that enables About Care to carry out its mission. Thanks David! #servingthecommunity #ServingSeniors #servingourcommunity

About Care's Neighbors and Volunteers love sharing stories about their lives. Pictured below from left to right is About Care's Steven Harvey with Volunteer Sharon and Neighbor Anamarie. Anamarie grew up in Chile. Later, she moved to New York City and worked for Lord and Taylor. Over the years, it grew into a prominent luxury retailer. It was known for its high-quality womenswear, menswear, furs, cosmetics, fragrances, footwear, and home décor. Anamarie went on to study at ASU to get her degree as a social worker. It was quite entertaining to hear these two ladies reminiscing about their fond memories! #servingthecommunity #servingothers #ServingSeniors #volunteersmakeadifference #volunteering #volunteerappreciation

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has long been a pillar of generosity in the Valley, enriching health, well-being, and opportunities for Maricopa County residents. Celebrating its 25th year in 2024, the Trust has awarded over $725 million to local nonprofits. A key supporter of the Network of Nonprofits Serving Seniors (NNSS), the Trust, led by Senior Program Officer Emily Mead, unites 10 organizations to assist seniors across central Arizona. The About Care Team participates in these quarterly meetings to foster collaboration, share successes, and address challenges to ensure every senior in need is reached. Tremendous thanks to Emily and the entire Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust team! This photo was taken yesterday at the Piper Trust Foundation. Pictured below are the network members including About Care’s Ixcel Baca, and Steven Harvey on the far left. The Network of Nonprofits Serving Seniors consists of the following agencies: About Care, Aster Aging, Benevilla, Duet: Partners In Health & Aging, Foothills Caring Corps, Neighbors Who Care, AZ, Tempe Community Action Agency, VerdeCares Inc., YOPAS, and FSL
