This past Saturday, Abode's Kristin Dupre (VP Strategy and Partnerships) and?Haley Boccuzzi (Program Coordinator)?had the honor of engaging with 32 bright high school students participating in the Perspective of Earth - Team Mentorship (PETM) Project to present?on building decarbonization and its importance as we try to meet the state's?climate goals. ?? We're incredibly excited about this new program Abode is implementing with Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and All In Energy! The Navigator will start in Lowell and Springfield with plans to expand statewide. The goal is to help residents gain access to energy efficiency services and electrified appliances, particularly among underserved customers such as renters, low- and moderate-income residents, and environmental justice populations. The program will conduct outreach and engage with customers in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Khmer, reflecting the most spoken languages in Lowell and Springfield. This one-stop resource empowers Massachusetts residents to take steps toward reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. By starting in these cities, we are paving the way for a statewide effort to make energy transformation accessible and equitable for everyone.”? ? “At MassCEC, we are committed to ensuring Massachusetts residents have access to the resources and support they need to modernize their homes and embrace clean energy solutions,” stated?Emily Reichert, CEO of Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. “The Home Modernization Navigator simplifies and accelerates the path to home improvements that are better for people and the planet, empowering both homeowners and renters to make impactful changes that will lower expenses and shift our communities away from polluting fossil fuels." Looking back at 2024, our collaboration with Rewiring America has led to the broadest geographic impact, reaching over 1,000 energy coaches in over 40 states! Great work Edith Buhs and Mike Simons. Thank you to our partners Katy Hill, Madeline Gryll (Tamagni), and Anna Hovland.

2024 was a big growth year for Abode. Our team launched multiple new programs, expanded contractor networks, and trained energy advocates nationwide. We're looking forward to 2025 with gratitude and optimism. Thank you to our team and partners!

Our team is cool! Last week, Frances Duncan, Matt Corona, and Miguel Gothers-Reyes (from our MA and CT decarbonization programs) ran 25 km together in the Beast Coast race at Mt. Tom in Holyoke, MA. Well done team!

Another good month of Clean Heat RI program activity with heat pump installations across the state. Great to see the increase in the number of delivered fuel income eligible constituents accessing this rebate program for their households and advancing the state’s thermal emission reduction objectives with Act on Climate. Excellent work by Sarah Doherty and Abode Energy Management with the state’s heat pump program.
