关于我们
Ability Tree First Coast reaches families impacted by disabilities. We partner with individuals and organizations to provide R.E.S.T. Recreation – to refresh and rekindle the excitement in the family unit thru tailored recreation Education – to promote awareness in the communities we serve and provide opportunities for continuous learning for the individual, families, and their supports Support – to serve as a foundation and a resource, while providing the families respite and unconditional love Training – to provide instruction and best practices, while assisting businesses, churches, civic organizations, and the like in cultivating an atmosphere of inclusion with those they come in contact with. The partnership between Ability Tree First Coast (ATFC) and the communities in Northeast Florida is the cornerstone of its future. Our organization’s approach to excellence in the family’s development, socialization, and support will be its hallmark. We provide summer day camps, Parents Night Out, SociAbility Socials, community events, and more. We also promote inclusion in the community by providing trainings for churches, businesses, and organizations to assimilate these families into their visions. As we grow our roots deeper into the northeast region of Florida, we will also provide opportunities for families to participate in varied activities including sensory friendly activities, sibling groups, and after-school care. ATFC is a volunteer-driven organization. We envision individuals and families impacted by disability being accepted and supported in their local communities, feeling included in their neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and churches. Fulfilling our vision involves people who are compassionate and willing to give of their time and serve on a team. It also involves those willing to give of their resources. If either/both of these things sound like something you might be interested in, please contact us.

Carrie is a co-teacher for our CampAbility Kids Camp. Her family has been personally impacted by disabilities, as her brother-in-law has cerebral palsy, and she has a 3-legged pug, Charlotte, that is herself, exceptional. Carrie moved to the St. Augustine area from Richmond, Virginia, where she was an ESE paraprofessional. Carrie started as an ESE paraprofessional with St. Johns County Schools in August 2023. Working with exceptional kids is her passion and something that brings her great joy. She loves to see life through their eyes and do whatever she can in the time she has with them to help them set and achieve goals.
