As a child, Jeimy dreamed of being a teacher. As an adult, the education to become one was too expensive. At Ability Connection Colorado, we pay our teachers while they train and— as you can tell with Jeimy's story—the investment is empowering for all. It's also something that can help you while you help hundreds of families. This Colorado Gives Day, when you give and designate your gift in support of our Creative Options program, you can take advantage of the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit that enable you to give more, receive something in return and possibly multiply your gift in the process! This last year we saw 652 children and families with many challenges and disabilities on a trajectory of learning and growing through a comprehensive early intervention system. This is resulting in a chance for a better life. Learn more and support teachers like Jeimy every day, and especially this #ColoradoGivesDay https://lnkd.in/gSRdb6RJ #earlychildhoodeducation #inclusioncolorado #greatplacestowork

Get to know Terry McGarry. We're thankful every single day for her energy, her humor and her dedication to her role as a Certified Community Work Incentives Coordinator in our Employment Works program. Every day she's able to change someone's life by helping them navigate complex systems to become a more productive and fulfilled member of our community. Terry, you rock. This particular week is one where our thankfulness is put on display, but you've got ours 24/7/365. To support the work that Terry and our entire team does, check out our Colorado Gives Day page at https://lnkd.in/gSRdb6RJ. #EmploymentWorks #greatplacestowork #employeeappreciation #AbilityConnectionColorado

Being a hero in an inspiring story might sound exhausting and time consuming. But it's pretty quick and easy. Local man on park bench explains. https://lnkd.in/d8wSTmQF

"You keep going because you don't have a choice." That's Megan Garvin, project coordinator for Empower, which provides support for families with children with behavioral health and mental challenges. At one point, she was caring for her newborn son—who'd just been released from NICU and was on oxygen—just as her two-year-old son was being diagnosed with autism and epilepsy. Add to that, she and her husband had only recently moved to Colorado and didn't have local family support. That's when she was introduced to Parent to Parent of Colorado. Empower is a program of Parent to Parent, and together they provide support for thousands of people across Colorado. Universal Children's Day, celebrated annually on November 20th, serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting the welfare and rights of children worldwide. Established by the United Nations in 1954, this day emphasizes the need for global awareness and action regarding the challenges faced by children, particularly in areas such as education, health, and protection from violence. The celebration of Universal Children's Day also highlights the significance of cultural diversity and inclusion in enriching children's lives. By engaging with different cultures, children gain valuable perspectives, fostering empathy, creativity, and open-mindedness. Exposure to diverse traditions, languages, and practices cultivates a sense of belonging and respect for others, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and inclusive society. In this way, Universal Children's Day not only advocates for the rights of children but also champions the benefits of multiculturalism and inclusiveness in their development and well-being. NOTE: Your donations to our Creative Options for Early Childhood Education are eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit. It enables you to give more, receive something in return and possibly multiply your gift in the process! And right now through December 10th you can amplify your donation even further by giving at https://lnkd.in/gSRdb6RJ. #universalchildrensday #InclusionColorado #AbilityConnectionColorado

He's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. His name is Robbie and a freak accident led him down a different path—one where he'd need Guardianship Alliance of Colorado. This Colorado Gives Day, you can help guarantee that at-risk adults have access to the resources they need. When someone is without a guardian, they can be denied appropriate benefits, healthcare, housing and social activities. Guardianship Alliance of Colorado protects the rights and dignity of vulnerable adults. Learn more and make your tax-deductible donation today at https://lnkd.in/gSRdb6RJ These are critical services our community can’t afford to lose. We great appreciate your help for adults who need care, and for helping us get our share of Colorado Gives Day $1 million+ Incentive Fund. #ColoradoGivesDay #FamilySupport #guardianship

#ColoradoGivesDay is here and so is the best day to give all year. All donations made now through December 10 count toward the $1 million+ Incentive Fund. That means that we get your tax-deductible donation, plus a commensurate portion of the fund...and we can't thank you enough. AND we greatly appreciate nationally acclaimed comedian Josh Blue for meeting with Matt Higgins, a talented member of our community's workforce. Education/Employment opportunities for youth and adults with differing challenges is just one of our three critical areas of focus. When you go to https://lnkd.in/gSRdb6RJ, you can choose to support any of our five community-based programs. Thank you so much, Colorado! #InclusionMatters #EmploymentWorks #AbilityConnectionColorado
