We’re still on a high from our AYP Ball last Friday, and it truly stands as a highlight of our year! ?? Over the years, the committee has evolved, and while we’re still a relatively new group we all came together to ensure the night was a success. A special well done to Morgan Jai B. and Natasha Hassard, our new co-chairs for their fantastic welcome speech, as well as Katie Watson and Julia Leng who took the stage for the raffle. ???? Thank you again to all our guests and to the businesses who donated prizes. We raised an outstanding £1,723 for our nominated charities UCAN Charity and Mental Health Aberdeen (MHA). It was great to hear from you on the night. ?? Heather Buchan Ellen Smith Cara O'Brien Ross Jolly Daniel Slimings Hashim Majeed Leigh-Anne McIntyre Without the support from our sponsors, Fugro and Addleshaw Goddard, we couldn’t put on these type of events, so it was fantastic to be able to host you at the beautiful Union Kirk!

Free night buses! Great news for local bars and restaurants, night buses start this weekend and run through til the new year. From roughly midnight to 3:30am, you won't have to worry about spending a fortune on a taxi home (if you can even get one). Sorry if this is widely known but I just found out about it so thought I'd share - I know it will help a lot of my clients in the city centre ?? N1, city centre – Dubford/Ashwood/Danestone, via King Street; N61, city centre – Ellon via Balmedie and Newburgh; N17, city centre – Bucksburn/Dyce, via Great Northern Road; N9, city centre – Inverurie, via Blackburn and Kintore, via Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI); N12, Torry – Northfield/Northfield – Torry, via city centre and Rosemount; N23, city centre – Kingswells, via Summerhill and Sheddocksley; N6, city centre – Westhill, via Queens Road; N201, city centre – Banchory, via Cults and Peterculter, via North Deeside Road; N18, city centre – Kincorth/Cove; N7, Garthdee – Stonehaven/Stonehaven – Garthdee, via city centre, Portlethen and Newtonhill. I would add that they've apparently been paid for by the bus lane cameras, but I don't want to start a war in the comments ?? https://lnkd.in/e5eVa_vD

  • ?? Empowering Future Leaders in Energy ?? In the dynamic energy sector, mentorship plays a crucial role in shaping young professionals for success. AYP Founder Ross Jolly dives into his approach in his latest post which looks at supporting emerging talent, fostering growth, and building strong industry connections (probably why he set up the AYP group!!) We’d love to hear from our followers: ? How are you engaging with mentors or guiding others in their career journey? Let’s inspire each other and strengthen the future of energy together ?? #YoungProfessionals #Mentorship #EnergySector #Aberdeen #Jobs #Careers https://lnkd.in/ejj8yejq

?? ?????? ???? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????????????????? ?? ???????????????????? ???? ?????? ???????????? ????????????? ?? It’s a familiar claim in the energy sector: "???? ??????’?? ???????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ???? ?????? ????????????????." But have we taken a step back to examine why that may be the case? Our young professionals are stepping into an industry with unprecedented challenges and opportunities, especially around energy transition and digitalisation. But are we, as seasoned leaders, providing the right mentoring, guidance, and training they need? And equally important, are we giving them the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them? Without this support, it’s no wonder we see fewer young professionals reaching their full potential and feeling fulfilled in their roles or taking an interest in joining this great industry. Investing in their growth and resilience means a future workforce that’s prepared and passionate. To hasten the energy transition we need young minds to question "whats always been done". ?They have the curiosity and courage to question the status quo, yet, do they feel empowered to challenge “the way things have always been done” without fear of reprisal? Let’s remember, this is an industry that has made enormous technological advancements by pushing boundaries. From digitalisation to remote offshore operations, we’ve reinvented how things are done! Now, we need to encourage our young professionals to question, innovate, and even make mistakes. This is how we bridge the experience gap and build a workforce ready for the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts! ?? Are we, as an industry, truly committed to nurturing the next generation of energy professionals? ?? What more can we do to bridge this experience gap? Whats been your experience? #EnergySector #YoungProfessionals #Mentoring #Leadership #FutureOfWork Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) (??????????? ???? ??? This & Yap - Networking Book Club. I am pleased to announce that we have our first date organised for a new Networking Book Club. ??? As many of my connections know, 2024 has been a year that I have found my love for reading. It has opened up so many conversations with others and allowed me to build relationships with so many. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to host a relaxed monthly networking book club session, to encourage other readers to experience this and open up to new connections personally and professionally. Whether you’re a book lover or looking to expand your network, i’d love to have you there. ??neospace, Riverside Drive ???13th of December 2024 ??12:30pm - 1:30pm RSVP [email protected].
