关于我们
Founded in 2001 by Joanne MacInnis RN, a nurse with 40+ years in healthcare, home care, and hospice, Aberdeen's reputation is one of excellence. . We are committed to nurturing genuine and authentic relationships with staff, clients, families, and the community. . We create space and safe environments to hear and address questions or concerns. . We promote and actively practice inclusivity and view ourselves as one team working toward a collective goal. Every member of the Aberdeen Team has a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that their meaningful work is changing lives and families. Our management team are all North Shore natives; we live, work, volunteer, and raise our families in the communities we serve. Collectively, we have many years of experience in healthcare, in various settings, and maintain clinical excellence as a hallmark of the agency. Our passion is allowing elders to remain at home, or the setting of their choice, and to provide any level of care that they need to achieve that goal. Working collaboratively with family, physicians, and visiting nurses or hospice, we create a unified team around one common goal: our Client’s wellbeing and quality of life. We invest in the highest quality Caregivers who will provide skilled, compassionate, trustworthy, and attentive care to our Clients. Creativity, resourcefulness, and commitment are what define our caregiving and the relationship we have with our Clients and families. Our Companions, CNAs, CHHAs, and professional Nursing staff provide 4-24 hours/per day of care; our Nurses also provide case management and conduct professional nursing assessments. We know this can be a challenging time, and we can help you navigate this new chapter of life. Joanne MacInnis RN, Owner & President Aberdeen Home Care, Inc.

Instead of thinking, "I can't wait!" you might be saying, "I can't wait until it's over." If so, it might be time to take inventory and better understand the cost of your efforts and energy this time of year. Ask yourself: What do you really need right now? Is it quiet and solitude? Engagement and belonging? Baking pies and hosting 20 people is a great distraction for some and a significant obstacle for others. YOU decide where your energy is spent this time of year ??

Talking about illness and the idea of saying goodbye can be tough, especially when we're having those conversations with kids. Without the right information, children may "fill in the blanks" from their collective experience and imagination. Read our article below to learn how you can develop language around what's happening that informs but doesn't terrify: https://ow.ly/SSY750U2xl2 By being open, honest, and approaching the subject with compassion, you have an opportunity to teach your children invaluable lessons ????

You're not alone. The notion of rugged independence + self-sufficiency has landed many older adults in the emergency room, nursing home, or worse. Whether the issue is driving the car, money management, staying alone in the house, or other areas of vulnerability, removing any part of what is considered normal adult independence can be a crushing blow. Read more for some education and practical tips to help you face these inevitable scenarios head-on: https://ow.ly/v5kh50U2vIH

Happy Halloween! Trick or treating is just a few short hours away! As fun as it is, Halloween can actually cause increased anxiety for our older loved ones. Our friends and family with Dementia may experience increased anxiety or altered thinking. Here is how you can help: - Don't leave them alone during trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. Check when their town is celebrating Halloween!?? - Leave some lights on?? - Consider putting a basket of treats outside in the driveway?? - At the end of trick-or-treat, turn off outdoor lights and lock the door??

Today marks the end of #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek, but that doesn't mean we should stop the conversation. Caring for a loved one while also trying to maintain your own mental and physical health often puts a strain on your work and social life. Remind yourself that you can't properly care for others if you aren't taking care of yourself ??
