We've teamed up with Scottish Youth Theatre to offer four emerging artists/collectives in Aberdeen and the north east the opportunity to develop a new 10-20 min piece of theatre! Selected artists/collectives will receive: ?? A performance slot at Aberdeen Arts Centre ?? Directorial and dramaturgical support from leading director, Eilidh Loan ?? Rehearsal space at Aberdeen Arts Centre for an agreed number of hours ?? Production and technical support from the AAC and SYT teams ?? ?? New Exhibition Launch ?? We are thrilled to be launching the Wee Gaitherin Heritage Exhibition next week! Tickets to the launch are free and can be booked at the link below. During this launch event, you will be able to see, hear and toast the poets, musicians and art involved in the exhibition. We will be hosting lauded and prizewinning poets who either hail from or have made the Northeast their home: Jo Gilbert, Alistair Lawrie, Lesley Benzie, Neil Young, Judy Taylor, Jess Barrie and Andrew Urquhart – who will read their own works, as well as some from historical writers such as Lewis Grassic Gibbon, Mary Symons, Jessie Kesson. Accomplished local musicians, including Len Helsing of ‘The Thanes’ no less, will also entertain with their music and song.
