The credit rating agency Morningstar DBRS has upgraded ABANCA’s long-term issuer rating, raising it by one notch. For the first time in our history, we have entered the ‘A’ rating category, marking a significant milestone as we join the highest rating tier among agencies. Additionally, DBRS has assigned us a stable outlook. This decision reflects the agency’s recognition of our enhanced profitability, strong risk and capitalization profile, and solid funding and liquidity position. DBRS has also upgraded several key ratings: ?? Intrinsic Assessment: Upgraded from BBB to A. ?? Long-Term Senior Debt & Long-Term Deposits: Raised from BBB to A, with a stable outlook. ?? Subordinated Debt: Increased from BBB (low) to BBB, also with a stable outlook. ?? Short-Term Ratings: Confirmed at R-1 (low), with a stable outlook. In recent years, we have demonstrated strong and resilient profitability, and DBRS expects this trend to continue. This milestone year was defined by strong profitability, efficient growth, and technological innovation. ABANCA achieved an attributable profit of €1,203.1 million in 2024, with a recurring ROTE profitability of 16.5%. This high return is the result of sound balance sheet management, and efficient business growth, which increased the core margin by 28.9% Following the successful completion of 10 integrated corporate operations, we surpassed €128 billion in business volume, solidifying our position as a significant competitor across the Iberian Peninsula. We continue to grow steadily internationally, particularly in Portugal, the USA, Mexico, and Switzerland. In 2024, we maintained our commitment to technology as a key tool for adapting to our clients' needs and capitalizing on opportunities offered by new channels. Having invested over €1 billion in technological infrastructure over the past ten years, we continue to introduce new solutions while enhancing the capabilities and security of our remote channels.
