Because they tend to be paid less, women’s average contribution amounts total $4,521, compared to men’s average contribution of $6,103. ? Roughly 15% of working women has the option to enroll in an employer-based retirement plan, but hasn’t. #OnThisDay in #Law in 1869, the 15th Amendment to the Constitution was passed by Congress. This amendment states that citizens cannot be denied the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude. ? This new addition to the Constitution was especially impactful to the formerly enslaved African American men who were previously prohibited from voting. The amendment was ratified on February 3 the following year. ?
