?? Celebrating Excellence in Community Service! ?? We proudly awarded Carole McDermott with AARP New York’s highest state volunteer honor, the 2024 AARP New York Andrus Award for Community Service. ??? Carole has dedicated decades to ensuring homebound individuals receive healthy meals through her tireless work. As the volunteer president of Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh since 2010 and a board member for New York State Meals on Wheels, Carole’s impact is truly remarkable. ??? We had a fantastic time presenting this award to Carole in the very community she has worked so hard to improve! ?? Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson of Newburgh, who nominated Carole, aptly described her as a “gem to the citizens of the area.” ?? Carole’s long history of serving others was commended by the Town of Newburgh Scott Manley, who reflected on her remarkable impact on the community.
