One of the hardest things to make happen as a small business is to figure out who to talk to and how. I offer amazing rugs and full hands-on local services. Now to just find the right people to tell.
关于我们
More than 40 years ago a passion for the beauty of handwoven rugs began to grow into one of the largest and finest rug galleries in the United States. Robert Anderson, previously a banker at Anthony Wayne Bank here in Fort Wayne, Indiana, started collecting rugs for no other reason than they were fabulous. Over time that collection grew and Bob sought out how to share his love with others. After decades running the beautiful gallery, Dane Leitch became the new owner excited to continue the tradition of beautiful rugs and excellent service. Our gallery located at 1217 Broadway was originally a grocery store built in 1864. We have been thrilled to call it home for the last 30 years. New rug weaving styles, techniques, and color palettes are always being produced and our gallery has every type and size on hand. Abstract contemporary rugs in bold colors, transitional rugs taking the best of classic designs and shifting them into a modern aesthetic, and of course traditional designs reminiscent of the decor of the grandest homes of the 1920s are all ready to be admired. We even carry a large number of antique pieces which literally graced those home 100 years ago! It is the love of beauty and excellence that motivates us to serve our customers. Whether you are seeking a grand formal dining room rug of the finest weave or a casual modern piece for a basement recreation room, large or small we are pleased to be of assistance. All of our pieces are hand crafted works of art that are 100% wool or a combination of wool and silk. Come in to learn why we are the place Where Every Rug Is A Masterpiece!

Vintage rugs have been popular the past several years. Responding to the trend many importers took excess inventory of not quite antique rugs and had them "vintaged" with angle grinders and bleaching before being shipped back. Makes me cry a little inside. Rather than faking vintaging with power tools, our collection has true mint antique rugs, a few naturally worn vintage rugs, and a very popular set of collections of Vintaged Rugs here in the gallery (this last group is pictured in part below). Unlike the crime against rugs mentioned in that first paragraph, these rugs are made in the vintage style from their first knot. Then hand carved highs and lows mimic wear. Simply gorgeous pieces with another half dozen on their way this week.

Wool versus synthetic isn't a fair fight. Wool is an all-natural fiber produced by sunshine, grass, water, and fresh air. Mineral oil, water, and mild detergents are used to clean and create fibers. Elementary students learn this basic cycle without difficulty and the entire process can be done by hand. Polypropylene (the most common synthetic rug material) is a?thermoplastic?polymer. It is produced via?chain-growth polymerization?from the?monomer?propylene. A chemistry degree is required to understand both that sentence, and the multi-tank gas-catalyst-monomer process used to create the pellets that are melted and extruded into fibers. Wool is fully biodegradable, eco-friendly, and ocean safe. At the end of its life a few months is all it takes to return stored elements back into the ground. Polypropylene degrades in sunlight and shreds into microplastics that have invaded every ecosystem on earth. Although technically recyclable, less than 1% ever is due to the absurdly cheap creation process and comparably expensive recycling. Wool rugs are art. Polypropylene rugs are cheap for a reason.
