AAPL’s Landman of the Year Award celebrates a member’s remarkable leadership, land skills, integrity and contributions to the association, land profession and their communities. With that in mind, AAPL is honored to announce Jerris Johnson, CPL, as the 2024-25 Landman of the Year! Jerris’ dedication to the energy industry, his forward-thinking vision of how to improve the land profession and his passion for helping others make him more than worthy of this honor. Jerris has served on countless AAPL committees throughout his time as a member. After recently completing his term on AAPL’s 2023-24 Executive Committee as treasurer, Jerris continued championing improvements for AAPL as chair of the Association Management Software Ad Hoc Committee. His leadership on this "behind-the-scenes" committee is crucial for the long-term health of AAPL. Whether he's sharing industry updates on LinkedIn through his "News You Otter Know" posts, mentoring future land professionals or leading an AAPL RPL/CPL Certification Exam Review, Jerris' commitment to honesty, fairness and the betterment of the land profession is constant. He also leads by example on the "Real Deal Landman" podcast, where he shares wisdom and entertains as an ambassador for the profession. Jerris is a trailblazer in the energy industry. His work as a public speaker at numerous industry events this year has sparked conversations about how technology can enhance the way we work, making processes more efficient and helping all landmen make better decisions. Jerris is pushing the profession in his role at Rowland.ai with a progressive approach to artificial intelligence and its applications in land management, showing how new technologies can solve old problems. His impact doesn't stop at the office. He's deeply committed to his community, serving as the children's music director at his church and a mentor with the Salvation Army's Echelon program. Jerris and his wife, Heather, have been married for 23 years and have two kids, Ella and Thomas. Jerris' contributions to the land profession and energy industry are driving progress and his community work shows the heart behind all he does. We look forward to honoring Jerris and all our award winners at our 71st Annual Meeting June 18-20 in Kansas City. https://bit.ly/3TWFHWz #RealDealLandman #PoweringTheProfession #AmericasLandmen

Anderson, CPL/ESA (2004-05), for their recent induction into the prestigious NAPE Hall of Fame! Thanks to all three for their vital contributions to NAPE Expo LP, AAPL and the entire energy industry throughout their storied careers. Joining these individuals in the class of 2025 are Devon Energy and The American Oil & Gas Reporter (AOGR). “This 2025 group of inductees have demonstrated exemplary dedication and support of the NAPE event and have set the bar for their peers,” said Julie Woodard, CPL, chair of the NAPE Operators Committee and senior land manager at Expand Energy Corp. “The legacy that each individual and company has left on NAPE will be a part of the NAPE story for years to come. We are genuinely grateful for their leadership and involvement.” The HOF class was honored with a special ceremony at the 2025 NAPE Summit Energy Business Conference luncheon on Feb. 5 at the George R.
