Thinking about taking the #CNRN exam? Get inspired by Kailey Gienger, Nurse Care Coordinator at M Health Fairview Neurology Clinic. How has being certified impacted you professionally?: Being certified has enabled me to better understand and support the patients seen within our clinic, especially those who have multiple neurological conditions. My assessment and symptom screening has changed due to my deeper understanding of the conditions and the challenges it brings. Overall this has improved patient care and increased my professional growth. How has being certified impacted you personally?: Getting my CNRN has been a personal development goal of mine since 2019. Achieving this goal has led to building personal knowledge, increasing confidence, and being a positive role model for others. What advice would you give to other nurses considering taking the CNRN exam?: At first the CNRN certification can look intimidating. There is a lot of information to cover. I recommend approaching it in sections; taking your time to learn and understand each section before moving to the next. Give your self at least three months to study. Staying on a study schedule will be key. Register to take the CNRN exam by Thursday, June 5th to sit for the exam during the July 1-31 exam window at https://lnkd.in/eMyyYS7

The Essential Components of Adult Critical Care Neuroscience Nursing Orientation: A Delphi Study https://lnkd.in/eqgf_6yc BACKGROUND:?Critical care neuroscience nursing is a specialized field requiring a complex knowledge base and unique clinical orientation. A comprehensive orientation for nurses new to this specialty can improve retention, performance, and satisfaction. Critical care neuroscience orientations are often hospital based and regionally specific, and lack a systematic approach. The aim of this research was to obtain expert consensus on the essential components of a 12- to 18-week critical care neuroscience nursing orientation. Have you heard? Everyone is talking about nurses in the media. But what does that even mean? Media comes in many forms. It can be letters to the editor, and op-ed, social media posts, blogging, podcasts, and interviews from newspaper, radio, and television. It can be as simple as writing a health story for your local newspaper or magazine. Or creating a healthcare social media post to share with your network. So where do you start? With training! Check out the AANN Nurses in the Media program at https://lnkd.in/e5qS6ZfD Nurses in the Media: Competency Training Program for the Neuroscience Nurse will expand your expertise on media relations. This program is essential training for every neuroscience nurse. https://lnkd.in/eUvCV3Ju Rachel Malloy
