Inspiring words from AAFA President and CEO, Stephen Lamar! Thank you to all of our #AAFASummit?guests, sponsors, and enlightening speakers!
Reflecting on last week’s American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA)’s super charged Annual Executive Summit. Drawn together under the theme of “Trust & Transformation,” more than 230 C-level industry executives and stakeholders gathered to learn, share, network, and debate the key issues driving our industry and our world today. It was the perfect time to be in Washington, DC as real time breaking news from the White House and Congress created a split screen sensation with our stage by the Potomac, catalyzing our discussions and endowing us with a catharsis from this shared disruption. Showing up authentically, planning our responsible future, managing existential tariff and geopolitical risks, understanding consumer pressures, celebrating achievement and solutions, and exploring leadership from government and business lenses alike equipped everybody with many practical takeways and served as a springboard for our work this year. Thanks to all the compelling speakers who shared their perspectives, to our sponsors whose thought leadership facilitated our conversations, and to our attendees for engagement that stayed focused from the first steps of our Lobby Day to the closing dinner. And thanks to the amazing AAFA team who get dressed every day thinking how they can add value to our members. It was a week of fun, meaning, inspiration, and partnership that was summed up beautifully by incoming chair Halide Alag?z’s closing remarks. She spoke eloquently of the “Speed of Trust,” reminding us that trust is carefully cultivated and, when done correctly, it can greatly enhance collaboration and expedite our collective journeys.
