For once the A1, M18 and M1 were running freely no accidents, very few roadworks and no real hold ups as we headed south for Building Hereo's Quarterly Board meeting at our Gold Partner David Wilson Homes training academy. Our thanks to Jayson of Davidson Homes for all of the arrangements and the opportunity to show our trustees who have not visited the site the chance to review the first class training facilities. With the use of hybrid we enjoyed a large majority of the trustees attending, using this opportunity to join the meeting. Great opportunity this morning to join with the RFCA team at Anzio House, along with a warm welcome from Lieutenant Colonel John Gammon RRF before settling down to hear the chairmans address from Colonel Gordon Straughan OBE TD VR The theme for this mornings briefings not only focused on individual Armed Elements but also as a collective group of Combat forces facing a new defence review with decreasing numbers and ever increasing budget constraints. Commodore Thomas Knowles VR ADC RN as Naval Regional Commander Northern England and the Isle of Man set the scence with Colonel Peter Stitt Commander Headquarters North following and concluded by with Air Commodore Adam Sanson MSc BEng CEng FRAeS RAF all of whom gave an in depth report on the issues being addressed now and likely to be faced in the future along with input into Goverment and the Strategic Defence Review Grateful for the opportunity to place the SME employer concerns along with the support of reservists into the framework as we face a huge burden of new and additional legislation along with costs, together with the impact that may well have on our ability to employ reserves, which in turn could have major implications on our National Security My thanks to the catering team for a great lunch. #RFCANE #XF10 #XForces #Veteransinbusiness #buildinghereos

This afternoon was an honour and privilege to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the MoD together with Right Trax Ltd and their Director Gary Elliston BEM an ex Signaller. Right Trax, encourage through the correct use of motorcycles including repair and maintenance our younger people, helping them in many ways towards a safer and brighter future Hosted by the Mayor of Hartlepool, Councillor Carole Thompson the signing also acknowledged the work and support to our Armed Forces, Reserves and Cadet Forces that Hartlepool Council are well know for in our region. Now enjoying an excellant chicken curry in "the Glasshouse" Restaurant at Darlington College following an outstanding Graduation ceremony for the latest cohort of "Building Hereo's". Today's graduation ceremony was also a celebration as we welcomed John Leary from Lovell Construction Group who become one of our Gold Partners Equally today was the first time our CEO Christopher Charles, together with our newly appointed Deputy CEO Nicolas Schneider and myself had been able to collectively attend a graduation ceremony.
