Empowering young software engineers for tech-driven change in Africa.
关于我们
A2SV Foundation | Africa to Silicon Valley is a leading nonprofit tech academy and incubator that provides free, high-impact tech education tailored for high-potential African university students and transforming them into proficient software engineers, tech entrepreneurs, and innovators who can significantly contribute to Africa’s technological and socio-economic development. Recognizing that talent is everywhere but opportunity is not, A2SV was founded to bridge this gap. We partner with top African universities to identify exceptional male and female tech talent, provide them with free world-class tech education, and connect them with opportunities from hiring partners like Google, Bloomberg, Amazon, and Meta. As A2SV evolved, we developed an incubator arm where we hire our best alumni to develop socially impactful digital projects, providing a platform to create solutions that address Africa’s most pressing challenges. Over the past 5 years, we have: Trained over 800 students (600+ in Ethiopia and 200 from across 20 African countries), creating life-changing opportunities for young Africans. Secured 70+ job offers from global tech leaders such as Google, Amazon, Bloomberg, LinkedIn, and IBM. Organized Africa’s largest hackathon for two consecutive years, bringing together 4,900+ participants from 48 African countries to solve real-world problems with AI. As we celebrate five years of impact, we know there is still more work to be done. We’ve been fortunate to be backed by Google over the last several years, but we are now ready to take on new financial partners to help A2SV amplify its impact across the African continent. By partnering with A2SV, you will help advance Africa’s goal of building a vibrant tech ecosystem. Your involvement will allow us to reach more students, train future innovators, and create an environment where technology thrives. Together, we can shape a future where Africa is recognized as a hub of innovation and technological excellence.

Honoring the Victory of Adwa ???? As we celebrate Black History Month, we also remember the Victory of Adwa—a defining moment in African history. In 1896 (GC), Ethiopia stood strong against colonial rule, defeating the Italian army and securing its independence. This victory was more than a military triumph; it was a symbol of African resilience, unity, and resistance against oppression. Adwa’s legacy continues to inspire generations, reminding us that determination and courage can change history. ??? #A2SV #BlackHistoryMonth #VictoryOfAdwa #AfricanHistory

Celebrating a STEM Pioneer: Mary W. Jackson Mary Jackson made history as NASA’s first Black female engineer. She overcame many challenges to follow her passion for math and science, even taking classes at a segregated school to qualify for her role. Her work in aerodynamics helped NASA improve aircraft and space missions. Later, she focused on helping more women and minorities succeed in STEM. In 2020, NASA honored her by renaming its headquarters after her. Her story shows the power of determination and breaking barriers! ?? #BlackHistoryMonth #MaryJackson #WomenInSTEM #A2SVHackathon
