Join us at A2A Pharmaceuticals in congratulating our very own Sheri Sims on receiving the prestigious AMSUS-SM Tip of the Spear Award for 2024. Sheri’s involvement with AMSUS-SM has continued to grow over the past two years as a contributing member of three AMSUS-SM subcommittees: the VA, U.S. Public Health, and Membership. In 2024, Sheri’s efforts across these subcommittees resulted in spearheading an update of the VA VISN Pharmacy Executive roster, making significant contributions in coordinating activities with the Indian Health Service (IHS), and creating the AMSUS-SM Dining Buddies program. This program ensures that every member of our organization, including new members, has the opportunity to dine with a group rather than alone. This ingenious approach has fostered additional networking opportunities for all AMSUS-SM members. Thanks to Sheri’s vision, all of our collective boats are rising. Meet Our February Employee Spotlight, Michael McGuire! I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, Toni, who I’ve been blessed to share 23 wonderful years of marriage with, and our two amazing daughters, Karlee and Addison. Karlee, who is 19, is currently living her dream as part of the Disney College Program at Disney World, where she’s been since August 2024 and will remain until the end of July 2025. Our family has always loved visiting Disney World, but it’s even more special now that Karlee is a part of it. Addison, who is 12, keeps us on our toes with her busy schedule. She’s deeply involved in travel volleyball, middle school volleyball, and middle school archery, which we love supporting and cheering her on in. Our family time is precious, whether it’s at Disney, on the volleyball court, or at archery practice. After retiring from the military in June 2023 and starting at A2A that same month, I realized this role filled a void I didn’t know I had in my life. The leadership team here is incredible, standing firm on their commitment to work-life balance, which has been a game-changer for me. The care they show for their employees is unmatched, and I’m fortunate to work with co-workers who truly feel like family. It’s an environment of mutual support and genuine camaraderie that makes every day at A2A meaningful. The most rewarding project I’ve worked on at A2A has to be creating and implementing the company’s Safety Policy for A2A Integrated Pharmaceuticals and A2A Alliance Pharmaceuticals. It was a complex but highly rewarding experience, covering everything from forklift and pallet jack protocols to first aid and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Knowing that the policy not only ensures compliance but also actively contributes to the safety and well-being of my colleagues is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a project that reflects A2A’s values of care and responsibility, and I’m proud to have been a part of it.
