One thing we're discovering in our LinkedIn adventure (and business as a whole) is the difference between propaganda and marketing. It's a subtlety that in our opinion needs to be embraced. Propaganda: Trying to convince someone to buy something. Marketing: Just telling your story. Talking about who you are, what you do, what you hope to achieve. A lot of us (we're looking in the mirror while we say this) get sweaty palms when we think of trying to sell, etc. But just telling our story? We're getting a lot more comfortable with that. Here's a pic of an outside sanctuary we were privileged to help build.

One thing we love about LinkedIn versus FB and all the others, is that this a B2B platform. Which is obvious to anyone, we know, but this gives us a chance to talk more about the story of our a company, and less about our services. (Though we will post some sweet portfolio pieces, of course). A few years back, for example, we decided that we would become a co-op. It was a big shift for us, and we've learned a lot about the differences between this and a so called 'normal' businesses. We'll dig into that more with future posts, if you or your company are thinking about making the shift as well. But the biggest piece? Turning our employees into true partners in the business, which has been a true epiphany. More to come on all that.... In the meantime, a little bathroom redo:

It's interesting , the opportunity that platforms like LinkedIn and FB and all the rest provide to a little company like ours. We've learned a lot since we've taken the dive in, mostly that the water is warm and the people are nice. How has LinkedIn helped us so far? Well, we're frankly unsure. We're cutting away at it, and learning the platform. What we do know (or maybe it's more of a guess): most people probably don't want to hear much about our services, as great as they may be. But maybe we can share the story of how one small business is looking to affect change and use social media for the better. Plus, why we chose go become a Co-op? That might be it. Keep your eyes on this space.

On October 24th at 5:00PM PST, we're going to be doing a Facebook live to answer all your 'Aging in Place' questions from the ground up. We got a lot of great responses to our survey and handed out lots of free coffee, so we're really looking forward to it. More info to come. If you haven't participated yet, and want your questions answered, fill out the survey here. Talk soon!

Client Pat Buhl had this to say about her kitchen remodel: It makes me smile everyday. Blue - who knew? Partake in the vid to smile too.

Well here it is, our 'Age in Place, Age with Grace commercial' for all to see. We like this one because it speaks to how we can all retain independence in our homes as we grow a little older, with grace and with dignity. We also encourage you to fill out our survey (link in comments) for a free cappuccino over at Makeworth. Let us know what you think. https://lnkd.in/gcvxr7Qj

If you saw our post yesterday about our 'Age in Place, Age with Grace' initiative and commercial we're launching tomorrow, you know we're pretty excited about it. Here's a little pre-vis we put together for it, which is basically a blueprint and proof of concept before our production team started rolling the cameras. And.... action.
