This week, we are finally doing the first phase of testing on revising an approved product specification for abrasives that I have been working on for almost two years.?? So when they finally got approval and funding to move forward with this project, I highly recommended my friends over at A1 Industrial Painting, who already does a ton of work for them. Then 2 other recommendations came up for them to be used on this r&d project too, which just solidified what I said - I want the best in the business to work on any of the projects I work on.?? The history between A1 (Jack & Denny), and I goes way back; these guys have been riding with me since my NIICAP days and the love and respect I have for them is deep. I can only attribute the work that I do, by the support I have in the industry.?? The goal is and always will be to challenge owners, end users, and paint manufacturers to start paying attention to what they’re allowing and specifying when it comes to their surface preparation, especially the abrasives. Gone are the days where calling out a generic profile and standard will do, especially when you want your coatings to last. There will be a white paper on this project to hopefully be released at AMPP 2026 with a phase 2 to follow.
