January is Stalking Awareness Month. It's important to remember that stalking is never your fault; it is a tactic the abuser uses to intimidate and frighten you to regain power and control over you. If you think you are a victim of stalking and need safety planning assistance, our advocates are here 24/7 to talk, chat, or text with you about further options and support. You deserve a life free from abuse and fear. We are here to support you. Call us at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or chat at thehotline.org. #StalkingAwareness #Stalking #DomesticViolence

Did you know there are multiple ways to donate to A Woman's Place? Donations made through the Colorado Gives website of $100 or more may qualify for the 25% Colorado Homeless Contribution Tax Credit. During Colorado Gives Day, any donations that A Woman's Place receives will support our new safehouse building project. The new facility will double our capacity, increase the number of ADA-accessible rooms by 1500% and secure a safe space for survivors to heal. We need your help! Domestic violence is often thought to occur behind closed doors in the secrecy of one’s home. But statistics show the effects of domestic violence spill over into many more areas—survivors’ and abusers’ workplaces among them. Consider this: When a survivor decides to leave an abuser, the survivor’s job is often the easiest place for an abuser to track him or her down and harass, stalk, threaten or harm the survivor. In that sense, domestic violence should be considered as much a threat to an employer as it is to their employees. Stephanie Angelo, author and national domestic violence consultant whose company trains companies how to handle workplace violence, says she doesn’t think employers in general take domestic violence as seriously as they should. https://buff.ly/3zLrjco #DomesticViolence #Abuse #DomesticAbuse #DVAM #DVAM2024 #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

Meet Kathryn! She joined our Board of Directors in 2023. When asked why she volunteers at A Woman's Place, she said "Domestic and partner abuse comes in too many forms: verbal, financial, mental, emotional, and of course, physical violence. I’ve seen and known too many people in my life who would have benefited from the services and safety that A Women’s Place offers. I feel privileged to work with an organization that makes such an important community impact."
