It’s for 60 minutes, and there are no slides—just a good conversation that you can listen to while you crack on with your Friday. As usual, we will record the first part but switch it off when we get to guest questions. Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/ek_Pc7aN

  • Welcome to Rachelle Henderson who has joined our fantastic collective team. Rachelle is a linguist and educator turned internal communications professional. She thrives at the intersection of communications, research and technology. She’s spent the better part of a decade managing employee, executive, and digital communication during moments of critical company transformation. She is currently expanding her reach through consulting, entrepreneurial projects, and developing original communication methods that fuse her linguistics background with internal communications. She's based in Raleigh, North Carolina. When she’s not working, you can find her diving all in on creative projects, like acting and modeling, watching horror movies, planning travel adventures, spending time with her fluffy Samoyed, or learning new things, which mostly recently includes quantum physics, simulation theory, and bears. I saw this quote shared on Instagram the other day and it stopped me in my tracks. Here's the truth: - There are some out here who are fighting for themselves and others because they don't believe they have a choice - physically, mentally, emotionally, ethically, morally. - There are some who benefit from the status quo and don't want to rock the boat. - There are probably many others somewhere in the middle - protecting their families; their futures; choosing which causes are most meaningful to them; protecting their mental health; believing they can make more of a difference from the inside versus outside; and ensuring that they are there to provide different perspectives because they have influence. I think the question for those who want to be Elphaba but in reality are Glinda, "What will you do with your power?" I also wonder what Glinda's role should be? I don't have the answers and I think for most of us, this is a conversation we are having with ourselves. Wondering about your thoughts.

    • Words in a post by Jesse Mechanic.

In Wicked, the two protagonists (Elphaba and Glida) find out their esteemed and worshipped leader is a fraud and the entire system he created is build on lies and deception. The revelation prompts Elphaba to vow to fight said leader and the system he created, while Glinda, although she empathizes with Elphaba's stance, does not join her and assumes a position of power within that fraudulent, oppressive system.

Most people thing they're Elphaba, Most people thing they'd make tough decisions to fight those in power even though it would make them vilified outcasts, even though it would make their lives much more difficult.

The truth is: Most people are Glida
