Creating change so more Utah women and girls can thrive.
关于我们
National and statewide studies show that women and girls in Utah are not thriving in critical areas. Utah continues to have high levels of domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and gender-based discrimination, while also ranking as the worst state for women’s equality and having low levels of women’s leadership representation. It is time for Utah to embrace A Bolder Way Forward (BWF), a systems-based approach to creating change faster and more effectively. Leaders across the state in 18 areas of focus are coming together to set bold goals for 2026 and 2030. We invite you to learn more and engage in this initiative. When we lift Utah girls and women, we lift all Utahns!

Every Tuesday we feature community resources related to the statewide movement, "A Bolder Way Forward," and its 18 areas of focus (spokes). Today we feature the Workforce Development Spoke. Did you know Utah has 44 available workers for every 100 open jobs, ranking the state as the “Most Severe” on the Worker Shortage Index?? ? To help raise awareness of this issue we have two new resources: ? First, we have created a two-pager, titled “What Utahns Need to Know” (https://lnkd.in/gBkh9era) that will help you learn more about workforce development.?? ?? And second, we have a short introductory overview (https://lnkd.in/gw_yC92d) produced in partnership with Utah Education Network. Susan R. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month in the U.S., and A Bolder Way Forward wants to help get messages into all communities, congregations, and homes throughout Utah. One of our spokes is A Bolder Way Forward Child Sexual Abuse Spoke, and in support of their work, the Utah Women & Leadership Project is hosting a free 1-hour webinar we hope you'll join. Approximately 1 in 7 children in Utah are sexually abused each year in Utah, yet many Utahns don’t recognize it as problem in their community. How can we address this issue and work toward a safer future for our kids? I will be interviewing four dedicated leaders in the space of child sexual abuse prevention on April 2 for a discussion on preventing child sexual abuse, its prevalence and impact, and solutions that can make a difference. Dr. Susan R. Madsen will interview leaders of amazing organizations that are doing critical work in this area: Jake Neeley (Malouf Foundation), Chris Yadon, MPA (Saprea). Laurieann Thorpe (Prevent Child Abuse Utah) and Sage Hancock, MBA (GenerationAll). Don’t miss this important conversation—register now for the free webinar on April 2.
