We've always admired business leaders who build communities focused on learning and mutual support — it's one of the most powerful ways to accelerate growth for the people involved. In a recent episode on the podcast, Ben had the pleasure of speaking with Emma Djemil, founder of Be Unstoppable and the HR Club, an empowering career development network for women in HR. Emma’s mission is clear: help women in HR recognize their inherent strengths, embrace their potential, and turn their work into a fulfilling and positive aspect of their lives. One of Emma’s standout initiatives is The HR Big Meet, an energizing event designed to connect, inspire, and elevate HR professionals, especially women. In the conversation, Emma also shares insightful tips on running effective, credibility-enhancing in-person events—including tackling the unique benefits and challenges. Listen to this episode to hear Emma’s inspiring journey—from traditional HR disillusionment to championing holistic well-being for HR practitioners—and discover why authenticity and community are critical to lasting success. ?? AI is shaping our future, but did you know it could be holding women back? A study from MIT and the Stanford Human-Centered AI Institute found significant gender biases in commercial AI systems, often reinforcing stereotypes and limiting women's opportunities in the workplace. This is why Ben was excited to speak recently with Shubhi Rao, the founder of Uplevyl, the world’s leading AI-for-women-by-women company. Uplevyl is leveraging AI to support women in the workforce, especially by helping companies elevate more women into leadership roles. Their groundbreaking platform ensures that AI not only avoids bias but actively promotes gender equality by providing tools and insights that empower women to succeed and lead. Gender bias in AI is more than just a tech flaw—it's a challenge to progress. Ben was really impressed by Shubhi and Uplevyl’s commitment to turning this around and building a fairer, more inclusive future for women in all industries. There are so many options out there for people trying to grow their HR-related business. This leads to questions such as: Should we be running paid ads somewhere? Do we need a blog? What should we be posting on LinkedIn? Which types of companies should we approach? Why are they ignoring us? Should I write a book? What about Google AdWords? What should we say on our website? Should we be making videos? How should we send emails? Hubspot, Mailchimp, Active Campaign, or something else?? How do we decide what to offer? What’s the right angle to take in sales meetings? How do we get more clients? And most common: ‘What should we do next?‘ People often feel a little overwhelmed. Now, one size does not fit all. Not every marketing method is right for your business There are so many different ways to promote your HR business. So here’s a simple 5-step process you can use... 1. Get crystal clear on your ideal client types and make sure your service offerings are aligned so they are more appealing to your ideal clients. Find your business sweet spots. Nail down your sales messaging to use in all your sales and marketing. 2. Identify your marketing preferences & roadblocks. Play to your strengths. Then select the best marketing methods for your business. This is different for every person and every business. Depends on your personality, your preferences, your budget, and your goals. 3. Create your 90-Day Marketing Plan. Set out your plan in a clear one-page Gantt chart with specific goals and activities. One consultant I know credits her program of 90-Day Marketing Plans as being the main driver for her to rapidly racing from being a solo consultant to becoming a highly successful million-dollar+ consulting company with staff clients right across the country. 4. If you plan to spend money, you’ll want to create your marketing budget. This should be a clear, one-page spreadsheet tracking expected vs actual marketing spend. 5. Work the plan and track your business goals & metrics. Start with the end in mind, right? What numbers do you want to achieve and how will you measure your progress? Set realistic targets and work towards them every day like clockwork. More on this here: https://lnkd.in/exxGUegs
