Congratulations to our November 911der Woman of the Month, Mykehla Stangle! She is a telecommunicator at Knox County Central Dispatch in Indiana. Here’s what her nominator had to say: “A multitasking mom, rocking both home and work life, never skips a beat in showering her crew with gratitude. Ready to swoop in for extra shifts, she's the life of our PR parties and even while burning the midnight oil, she's the queen of her household. Meet our young dispatcher who bravely faced her toughest call yet. Our friend and colleague shot himself and she was the main call taker. She then had to pull herself up and work the rest of her shift (this happened at the very beginning of her shift) and the next day due to short staffing at our center. My admiration for this woman stems from the trauma in her past she has endured and the resiliency she oozes with each situation that is thrown at her. She is honest about her mental health struggles, helping our center to end stigma surrounding the stereotype that we must “suck it up”. She is an amazing partner and a fantastic dispatcher, hungry for training and growth.
