The Fire Station Cannabis Co. was named the fifth?'Best Cannabis Company to Work For (Dispensary)'?by the Best Companies Group and Cannabis Business Times. The Fire Station was the only Michigan dispensary listed among the eight 2023 award winners. Best Companies compiled its nationwide rankings based on employee feedback. Seventy five percent of The Fire Station’s score came from anonymous employee questionnaires about important areas such as #communication, #pay, #benefits, #training and #development. Staff members from the companies ranked on the Best Companies list indicated that their leaders support, inspire, motivate and engage them. Jamie Freeman, a loving father, our very dear friend, and a blessing to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on September 23rd, 2024, at the young age of 47. As some of the people who cared about him most, we are hoping that together with the help of a generous community, we can raise enough money to lay him to rest with the burial service a person like him deserves. Prior to Jamie's untimely death, he worked as a valued team member at The Fire Station Cannabis Co. in Houghton, MI. He made it a point to treat every task and every customer interaction with his full attention and intention. He was grateful to come to work every day; truly glad to see us all and spend the day with us. He wanted to treat every customer like he was meeting a new friend. If you were lucky enough to have known Jamie, either personally, as a customer, or as an acquaintance, you would know that he was truly one of the most passionate and gracious people. Words cannot describe the impact Jamie will leave on us. All contributions to this cause will go directly to Jamie's daughter, Lo. Every little bit helps! Thank you for your consideration.
