This fall, 8K celebrated the 5-year anniversaries of 3 key employees. Drew Chestnut, Matt Wiseman and Conor McCullough have each played a key role during a period of significant growth for the company. All that 8K has and will accomplish would not be possible without the contributions of dedicated employees like these three. This significant milestone is just the start of a great future with 8K.

Over the past year,?8K?has had the distinct honor of working with the non-profit Lydia’s House to expand their campus in Norwood, OH. The project included a new large addition to their original shelter along with significant renovations to the outdoor gathering spaces throughout the campus. The new facilities will significantly impact Lydia’s House to fulfill their mission of providing safe, stable and?supportive housing?for women and children in crisis. On Friday, 8K completed the financial closing for The Bridge in Evanston. 8K started working on the Bridge in late 2020 (!) so the closing was a crucial milestone nearly 4 years in the making for this $8.5MM project. Construction on 27 apartments, 5 commercial spaces and a parking lot will begin later this week along Montgomery Road in the historic Evanston Business District. Cream and Sugar will be retained as a tenant for the long term and will remain fully operational during construction. Last week, Cincinnati Preservation Association surprised us with a Preservation Excellence Impact Award for Mergard Lanes. This adaptive re-use project turned a former bowling alley into 14 affordable apartments and a new office space for our outstanding development partner, CHCURC - College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Development is truly a team sport and it takes the work of many make meaningful impact. We are lucky to have so many great partners who willing to think outside of the box!
