Hi everyone! I have been passive on this platform for a bit but I'm coming out of my shell for some really exciting news! For those who don't know, I am 88.5 FM The SoCal Sound's HD3 Brand Manager and the HD3 Program Director. For the past couple of months, I have been working towards rebranding the station. A station formally known as 'Latin Alt.' I always felt as if the name 'Latin Alt' kept the station boxed in, it limited people's expectations of what they're going to hear when they tune in. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm Latino and dedicate myself to uplifting my community every chance I get. Still, I also believe that our other minority sisters and brothers need uplifting too. With our new brand name, Bilingual Sounds, we're bringing representation to the radio airwaves and amplifying alternative music from around the world. On the new Bilingual Sounds, you can expect a diverse mix of music that reflects the listening habits of many first, second, third, etc. generation folks. A mix of iconic American rock songs blended with iconic Rock en Espa?ol songs from the '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s and alternative contemporary gems from local and international artists! We also show love to Filipino, French, Japanese and Black artists. If you have recommendations on what music from other cultures we should add to the mix, let me know! As a Guatemalan immigrant, my listening habits are eclectic. One moment I'll be jamming out to Julieta Venegas and the next to Oasis, Florence + The Machine and back to Maná or Juanes. I'm very curious to know your listening habits too. Well, anyway, thanks for reading my two cents about the rebranding. I really do hope you tune in and enjoy what I am trying to build/program here.
