Carbon capture and direct air capture technologies must be deployed at scale in the U.S. to achieve net zero emissions by mid-century. These platforms are poised to bring the biggest value within hard-to-abate industries, as our partners at the Carbon Capture Coalition recently pointed out: “Carbon management technologies are not optional for decarbonizing the industrial sector.” Delivering viable, affordable carbon management solutions to the industries that need them most will require continued innovation and investment support. As we commercialize our own Calcite DAC platform, 8 Rivers is committed to working with industry partners, policymakers, and local leaders to emphasize the environmental and economic benefits of these technologies for industries and communities. ??More on advancing carbon management technologies from the Coalition: https://lnkd.in/e4ctGChh ??More on Calcite: https://lnkd.in/gXM-mGVj
关于我们
8 Rivers is a clean energy and climate technology company leading the global energy industry towards achieving net zero. Since 2008, 8 Rivers has been pioneering infrastructure-scale technologies that can drastically reduce or remove CO2 emissions. We’re proud to be a growing, world-class team of engineering and business experts working together to commercialize technologies and deliver projects across multiple sectors, with a focus on oxy-combustion and ultra-low carbon intensity processes. The 8 Rivers technology portfolio includes ultra-low carbon hydrogen production (8RH2), transformative low-carbon power cycles (Allam-Fetvedt Cycle), and hyper-efficient direct air capture (Calcite). With more than $1B in funding raised into our portfolio, we hold more CO2-related patents than any other entity in the world, and we are actively deploying our technology into projects in the US and abroad. Our diversified suite of technologies was developed to help the hardest-to-decarbonize sectors to achieve their net-zero goals by prioritizing the balancing of economics and science. 8 Rivers is speeding the arrival of a net-zero world where clean energy powers human prosperity. Apply today if you are interested in contributing to our vision for a cleaner tomorrow, today.

In the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s latest 2024 Global Hydrogen Review, researchers highlighted the 8 Rivers-led Cormorant Clean Energy project in Port Arthur, Texas as an innovative energy project that will advance global net zero goals. Powered by our 8RH2 ultra-low-carbon hydrogen production technology and an ammonia loop, Cormorant is set to produce 880,000 metric tons of ultra-low-carbon ammonia to help decarbonize heavy industries across the globe. For more insights into the future of the hydrogen industry, check out the report: https://lnkd.in/dyZ5Ndmi? And learn more about 8RH2 on our website: https://lnkd.in/eUMECrgm??

At #COP29 in Azerbaijan last week, a coalition of hydrogen industry groups proposed several measures to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen to support the energy transition in the coming years, including: ??Setting clear incentives and targets to deploy hydrogen in key sectors like transportation, power, and more.? ?Speeding up permitting processes for hydrogen projects? ??Encouraging public-private partnerships and blended finance strategies to derisk projects and technologies 8 Rivers’ 8RH2 hydrogen production platform represents an affordable, scalable path to delivering ultra-low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia to the markets and geographies that need it most. As we commercialize 8RH2 this decade, we look forward to working with developers, investors, and partners to strengthen not only our technologies but the entire global hydrogen ecosystem.?

A recent study published by Harvard researchers highlighted the need for diverse hydrogen production solutions to help decarbonize notoriously challenging sectors like transportation and heavy industry. The study also pointed to one of the biggest barriers to widespread adoption of clean hydrogen technologies: cost. Is it possible to deliver hydrogen production solutions that prioritize both low carbon intensity AND low costs? We think so! 8RH2, our ultra-low-carbon hydrogen technology has been developed with affordability and scalability in mind. It harnesses pure oxygen and pressurized CO2 in a compact system to produce clean hydrogen at a lower cost and higher efficiency than conventional and emerging technologies. ?????President and CDO Damian Beauchamp spoke with Latitude Media’s Lisa Martine Jenkins about the value strategic partners can bring to FOAK projects: “Companies must understand that if they want to be a big player in the energy transition space, they have to go beyond commitments and instead pursue direct investments and partnerships to help take innovative tech into the mainstream.” As Damian explains, providing direct investments, project management support, and access to broader supply chains and resources are just a few ways larger companies can play an active role in bringing innovative decarbonization technologies to market.
