Great event at Fort Liberty NC with the Future MEDEVAC Cabin Technical Demonstrator Special User Evaluation (SUE) the past two weeks. Ground medics from the 1st Brigade Combat Team and Paramedics from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army conducted hands-on medical training and provided valuable feedback that the US Army will use to inform the medical interior for the MEDEVAC version of the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA). Maj. Gen. Anthony McQueen, the Deputy Army Surgeon General, was on hand to see the innovative transportable patient handling system and speak to some of the combat medics about their experience during the SUE. Kate Rubins, who became the first Army Reserve officer to receive the Basic Aviation Badge with Astronaut Device and Basic Space Badge in the Hall of Heroes at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, on Nov. 21, 2024. Rubins, a microbiologist and a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut, is one of the few individuals to hold both military and civilian spaceflight credentials. Her service demonstrates the Army Reserve’s adaptability, bridging civilian expertise and military operations to prepare for the future battlefield. Congratulations Maj. Kate Rubins, a microbiologist with the Support Group, 75th U.S. Army Reserve Innovation Command, on earning the Basic Aviation Badge with Astronaut Device and the Basic Space Badge! The prestigious ceremony, held at the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes, celebrated her achievements on Earth and in orbit, highlighting the Army's ongoing role in space exploration.
