For Nate Greci, precision is more than a job requirement—it's a daily challenge that drives his passion for diamond turning. As a Diamond Turning Technician at 603 OPTX, Nate spends his days setting up 2-axis lathes to manufacture a diverse range of lenses. What excites Nate the most about his role? Being part of projects that make an impact. "It’s rewarding to know the work we do here can help keep people safe," he shares. One of his recent accomplishments involved achieving a tight specification on a challenging calcium fluoride lens—a testament to his skill and determination. The team at 603 OPTX is another reason Nate values his work environment. "The company is made up of a lot of experienced people in the industry," he explains. "You’re always learning new things and discovering better ways to tackle difficult tasks." Outside of work, Nate finds joy in the outdoors, whether it's hunting, 4-wheeling, or spending time with family. For those considering a career in diamond turning or joining 603 OPTX, he offers this advice: "Be patient. This job is challenging and can get under your skin at times, but with the right guidance, it’s incredibly rewarding to overcome those difficult tasks." Last week, 603 OPTX Diamond Turning Technicians, Dylan and Brody, completed the Fundamentals of Ultra Precision Machining course at the Moore Nanotechnology Systems Global Training Center. This program offered an in-depth introduction to ultra-precision diamond machining, covering essential aspects such as machine maintenance, fixturing, and metrology. A special thank you to our team for their dedication and to the Nanotech team, especially instructors Brett S. and Colton Estes, for their expert guidance under the direction of Matthew Davies. Investing in our team's development ensures we stay at the forefront of the industry.

Last week, Matt Zabko, Tony Wilcox, and Shaun Frazier, turned the back lot of our shop into a pop-up breakfast spot, cooking up a storm for the whole team! Big thanks to these top chefs who proved that teamwork doesn't just happen on the shop floor and provided some tasty eats for our crew! Hey, if optics don't work out for them, maybe a food truck...
