The loss of Peggy Moore and Hope Wood is an immense tragedy. We at 50+1 Strategies extend our deepest love and support to their family, friends, colleagues, and their team at Hope Action Change Consulting during this profoundly difficult time. Peggy and Hope were not just influential figures in the organizing and advocacy space, they were true pillars of their communities, dedicating their lives to making a difference. Many of our team members, including our founders, had the honor of working directly with Peggy Moore on the Obama Campaign, Organizing for America, Buffy Wicks for Assembly, Hillary for America, and more. We were privileged to call them our friends and are heartbroken by this loss. Their absence will be deeply felt. https://lnkd.in/e6Wtb2Dm
Dear Friends of Hope Action Change Consulting, It is with deep sadness that we must let you know that HAC founders and principals and life partners Hope Wood and Peggy Moore were killed in a car accident on their way home from a concert this past Friday night, May 10. Like everyone who had the privilege to know them, we are stunned and grieving over our abrupt and unexpected loss. Both Peggy & Hope were larger than life, filled with love & joy, and dedicated to serving their communities. If you were a client of theirs, we hope you know how much they believed in your leadership and your work - because they only worked for causes they believed in and for people who work to make this world a better place. They cared deeply about you. Even through our grief, we still feel their light and their joy. We are comforted by the knowledge that their lives and their work impacted thousands of people. We know they have joined our ancestors and that their spirits will continue to remind us to find joy in the midst of all of our struggles for peace and for justice. We know that they would want all of us to continue organizing and advocating and building a just, joyful, and loving world. We have no information yet about services or memorials. We don’t yet know what is necessary to lovingly wrap up their life’s work at Hope Action Change. We do know that, over the coming months, we will honor their memories and their work to close out their business with the same love and care that they brought to their work with you. Every person that Peggy & Hope ever met is a part of the loving, joyful, purposeful Village that they mindfully and intentionally created. We hold you all close in our hearts, grateful that these two powerful & loving women will live on in every one of us and in the work we will continue to do. If we can continue to support you, your organizations, or your work in any way during this time, or if we can help you close out your business with Hope Action Change, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us. Peggy & Hope would want all of us to continue to love & support each other, and as members of their team at Hope Action Change, we will do our very best to carry on that legacy.
