I am thrilled to share my experience visiting Hajr IPP (Independent power producer), organized by Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency. ?? Hajr IPP Background The largest IPP combined cycle gas-fired power plant in the world, producing 3927 MW by power station consists of 6 identical groups of equipment provided by Siemens. Each Group has a 2+2+1 configuration consisting of: ????????-?Two SGT6-5000F Combustion Turbines ????????-?Two Heat Recovery Steam Generators ????????-?One SST6-4000 Steam Turbine. Using Natural Gas as Primary fuel, Diesel as Backup-fuel. Developed on a BOO (build, own, operate) basis by Samsung C&T Saudi Arabia. As we toured the facility, we witnessed firsthand the plant's control systems, optimized power generation methods, Comparing the operation of the turbine in reality against what we studied in mechanical courses, and general safety guides. A ?? train from Houston, Texas journeyed over 1,400 miles to deliver our transformers to the Intermountain Power Project (IPP) in Delta, Utah. Siemens Energy equipment is now on site at Pioneer Generation Station Phase IV in North Dakota. PGSIV is Basin Electric’s largest generation project in the state since the 1980’s. The first Siemens Energy SGT6-5000F gas turbine generator package supplied for the project recently traveled by rail to the site in Williston. Installation now begins! We look forward to continued progress in this important project which will bring more electricity to an area with growing demand.

Excited to announce that Turbopower Services have started the construction of the Combined Cycle Power Plant "Gonzalez Ortega" at Mexicali, in which will be install 2 Siemens SGT6-5000F Gas Turbines and 1 SST-5000 Steam Turbine with their correspondent Electric Generators. This project will consist of a Net Power of 641 MW which will benefit the whole Baja California peninsula. Good luck to everyone involved and excited to be back!
