“As someone who deeply resonated with the stories behind the directors of 4SEE, this organization became the perfect environment that provided individuals who shared common goals and experiences an inclusive community platform to express their voices as changemakers and visionaries from all backgrounds. Coming from a local culture that is entirely dependent on its surrounding environment and peoples, it is frequently taught in Hawai'i that we must mālama ?āina–or care for the land, those who live, and those who come before us. Fundamental understanding of this philosophy can empower our generation of student leaders, and embodies the mission of 4SEE: cultivating better and more educated global advocates–and people–of tomorrow.” — Tiffany Wong, Administrative Affairs Chair

“My journey with 4SEE began unexpectedly, as an opportunity I didn’t anticipate. Joining the board of directors early on, I was surrounded by talented and passionate students committed to community service. Their enthusiasm to create a positive impact on the world, even in the face of challenges, truly inspired me. With 4SEE, my goal is to ignite the same passion in students for sustainability, equity, and education. I want to help them grow as leaders and provide them with the opportunities they need to make a meaningful difference in their communities. I also hope that through our efforts, students will gain the experience, knowledge, and support necessary to achieve their own goals and ambitions.” — Rhea Pasupuleti, Chair of Public Relations

“July 2024 was a summer filled with adventures, but the highlight was meeting some of the most driven student leaders. As I grew closer to them, they came up with the incredible idea of 4SEE. Recognizing a need for marketing expertise, they brought me on board, and together, the four of us founded 4SEE. With a shared passion for advocating for our planet, 4SEE has given me the opportunity to educate myself and others on critical global issues. As we developed the organization, I was excited to contribute my love for marketing. Through our internship program, l'm eager to share the tips and tricks l've learned in my leadership roles and help advance the interns' understanding of marketing and its importance. In the end, I hope that 4SEE continues to grow, empowering not just our interns but everyone involved to become advocates for positive change. Together, we can make a lasting impact on both our communities and the world.” — Ariel Yeater, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing

“Joining 4SEE was a chance presented to me by two friends I grew exceptionally close to during a trip. Their unwavering perseverance and drive to overcome adversity inspired me to support their mission. 4SEE's values resonated deeply with me, especially its emphasis on education. As both a teacher and student, I believe education is fundamental to personal and academic development. Advocating for equitable access to education is a crucial step forward in the right direction. During my part of the internship (Week 4: Fundraising), our interns will have the opportunity to champion environmental issues by networking within their communities. By the end of this experience, I hope you not only gain valuable knowledge but also forge meaningful connections.” — Kyle Patrick Janer, Co-Founder and Director of Finance

“When I was younger, I didn’t know how to define racism. Growing up as the child of immigrants, my parents were unable to explain the complex societal issue of racism to me because they didn’t know what it was. At the same time, the education system had not fully explained racism to us either because it was believed to be ‘awkward’. We were taught that it was a thing of the past - a thing that died along with Jim Crow laws and segregation - because perhaps it was more difficult to face that racism and bias were still present amongst us. Unfortunately, this meant that when I faced bias and discrimination in my elementary years, I was not equipped with the tools to stand up for myself. I was inspired to co-found 4SEE because I knew that, without educating youth on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), we are not equipping them with the tools to stand up to discrimination, racism, and explicit/implicit bias. These disparities are behind many of the fundamental issues in our society today. I believe it is pertinent that we ensure all youth have education on these topics. So let’s have those ‘awkward’ conversations together. Through 4SEE, we CAN envision a more sustainable, equitable future for all.” - Erina Haque, Co-Founder and Director of Equity & Education

“After the heartbreaking loss of an election I had spent the whole year preparing for, I had the dream of creating a student-led organization dedicated to inspiring young leaders to be changemakers promoting intersectional sustainability. After teaming up with a few other driven (+ hilarious, talented, and beautiful) student leaders, my dream became a reality. 4SEE was born in July 2024 not merely for me to have a project to work on during a long summer break, but to channel my passion for the environment into actionable change that shows others that they too can cultivate change in their communities. I am dedicated to making our 4SEE interns feel educated and empowered to make their communities more sustainable and just. I believe that it’s not only important to teach others about the devastating state of our natural world, but rather to engage them to be advocates. I hope that our program’s focus on advocacy will spark a ripple effect that leads to more conversations surrounding sustainability, equity, and education.” — Paige Hein, Co-Founder and Director of Sustainability

What could be more brat than starting a non-profit because you lost an election? In the words of Charlie XCX, “You’re just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes. Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like, parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like, does dumb things. But it’s brat. You’re brat. That’s brat.” Iykyk. Starting a non-profit as high school students is one of the most brat things we’ve done. Emerging in this field can be messy, and there are many obstacles that we face each and every day. There are fees. Forms. Legalities. It’s the exact opposite of clean. But we party through it. We party through it because our mission, centered on creating pathways for intersectional growth in sustainability, equity, and education, is one that can change the lives of the future generation. What could be more brat than that? We need the help of driven youth leaders to make our vision possible. So if you want to transform your brat summer into a brat autumn, apply to 4SEE Student Leaders Internship today. ??Eligibility: Current high schoolers and undergraduate students ??Time Commitment: 2-3 hrs/wk ?? Deadline: August 25 at 11:59 PM ET ?? Apply now: tinyurl.com/4seeinternship

??Who do you want to be??? That is the question we all asked ourselves growing up. Do you want to be a changemaker? An innovator? A global and ethical citizen? A leader? ??A better question might be: How??? 4SEE is an international, student-led organization founded on the principle of inspiring the future generation to make change. Our vision is fueled by the belief that anyone can be a leader and advocate for sustainability, equity, and education. Founded by two youth leaders who lost an election (Erina Haque and Paige Hein) and two others who won one (Ariel Yeater and Kyle Patrick Janer), 4SEE focuses on the issue of what our society defines as success and attempts to bridge the gap in leadership for those who are marginalized through our leadership-centered internship program and volunteer focused mission. We lead, inspire, and educate students to take action against societal issues pertaining to sustainability, equity, and education. We are excited to embark on this journey, but we need your help. Be sure to follow our LinkedIn @4SEE and our Instagram @4seeofficial to learn more about our organization and how you can get involved. With your support, we truly 4SEE the growth of a sustainable future for all. ??
