Chief Executive Officer at Community Child Care Coordinating Council of Alameda County

Reflecting on my final meeting as the chair for First 5 Alameda County. Serving this organization has been an honor, dedicating efforts to enhance early care and education systems within the county. Witnessing the growth and progress of this organization has been a rewarding experience. The future looks promising with your dedication and the increased responsibilities stemming from Measure C. Although my tenure with the Commission has concluded, my commitment to advocating for families, children, caregivers, and the community remains unwavering. Special thanks to Kristin Spanos, the F5AC team, Cecilia Oregon, and the entire group of Commissioners for their support and collaboration. The future of this important work is in capable hands. I am forever grateful for all the kindness and recognition extended.

  • Last Friday, 4Cs of Alameda County’s Garage was filled with more than 40 pallets of diapers and wipes, hundreds of resource bags and new children’s books, and dozens of volunteers filling up carts with these essentials for families with little ones in need of diapers. This Second Annual Diaper Distribution and Legislative Update for Working Families brought together event sponsors, volunteers, in-kind donors, and staff from both 4Cs and the Assemblymember Liz Ortega’s offices for an afternoon of smiles, gratitude, and a tangible reminder of the power of strong partnerships and collective impact. Thanks to our sponsors and 99 volunteers, more than 250,000 SupplyBank.org diapers and 5,600 containers of wipes were distributed, 700 new children’s books were provided and handed out by our friends at Tandem, Partners in Early Learning. Thank you to Assemblymember Liz Ortega for your partnership in providing essentials to families in our community!

  • Every day we are reminded of the generosity of our community and these acts are even more special when they come from our community's future leaders. A special thank you to our friends at Gan Avraham Preschool for their thoughtful and successful end of the school year Tzedakah (Hebrew word for charity) project! After much discussion about giving back to the community and a vote to determine what kids in families served by 4Cs of Alameda County would appreciate, the young students voted and decided pancake mix would be the perfect non-perishable item to donate to 4Cs food pantry! The Gan Avraham Pancake Mix Tzedakah Project resulted in the delivery of shelves full of pancake mix, milk, and some canned fruit for good measure. Toda raba – thank you! We appreciate your generosity and our food bank recipients appreciate your kindness!
