New Jersey is taking a bold step forward in 2025 with the introduction of cannabis consumption lounges. These on-site spaces will offer a regulated, secure environment for adults 21+ to enjoy cannabis, driving community engagement and equity in the industry. According to the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission: ? Applications open January 2 for businesses owned by individuals with cannabis-related records or from economically disadvantaged areas. ? Women- and minority-owned businesses can apply starting April 2, with all others following in July. ? No cap on the number of lounges—small businesses pay $1,000 annually; larger ones, $5,000.
