The 402d SOFTWARE ENGINEERING GROUP (SWEG) is located at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. The group is staffed with over 1,500 personnel experienced in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and information technology. With over 420,000 square feet of facilities, SWEG is the largest industrial complex in the state of Georgia. The 402d Software Engineering Group performs software changes on real time software systems located in various platforms including aircraft, drones, ships and hundreds of related systems. We maintain sites used to remotely control drones. We build and deploy equipment used to test and diagnose hardware failures in systems and write the diagnostic software used on the equipment. We also Business Enterprise Systems and apps to include worldwide inventory management systems and electronic logs used by air crews for takeoff, landing and loading data. To fulfill our mission in being a premier software provider for DoD and NATO, we design and maintain one-of-a-kind system integration labs consisting of software and hardware –in-the-loop. We also provide engineering services such as system acquisition, software acquisition consulting, and life-cycle support.

Congratulations to 309th SWEG!! ??????
The 309th Software Engineering Group distinguished itself by developing and delivering mission critical software products and services for a highly diverse portfolio of complex weapon systems. The group positively impacted essential platforms such as the A-10, F-16, F-22, F-35, Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, space systems, and command and control programs. The group’s relentless pursuit of innovation ensured that software development processes exploited leading-edge methodologies and delivered relevant products vital to mission success. The team of exceptionally talented professionals mastered the art of Agile DevSecOps and repeatedly demonstrated a rapid cadence methodology to develop, test, and deploy new software features. Their continuous delivery of software exceeded customer requirements, ensured secure code, and was responsive to changing warfighter needs. The group completed 219 deliveries for multiple weapon systems, earned $459M in revenue, and hired 379 new scientist, engineers, and support professionals resulting in significant advances in product relevance, cost, schedule, and quality. The professionalism and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the men and women of the 309th Software Engineering Group reflect great credit upon themselves, Air Force Materiel Command, the United States Air Force, and the Department of Defense.

402 SWEG Cost Effective Readiness (CER) Highlight: The C-5 Systems Integration Lab (SIL) team is a group of 27 members. One of the especially tedious and time-consuming tasks associated with this effort is the manual manipulation of buttons, switches, and settings on the Hardware User Interface (HUI) during testing. The team created a special scripting package that allows them to automate these tasks. By using the HUI Scripting Tool, the team cuts an average of 25% off the run time of each test. Based on the number of tests performed last year, this tool will provide an annual saving of $170,000. #402sweg #softwareengineers #hardworkpaysoff #teamwork #afsoftware
