March marks the start of B-Corp Month ?? - so I have taken some time to reflect on the experience so far. 4zero ClimateTech Recruitment | B Corp? started our B Corp journey way back in January 2022. The selection process was rigorous, requiring us to examine every aspect of our operations, our team, customer base and wider supply-chain. We learned alot, but it wasn't fun. However, what quickly became apparent through this exercise is that even as a smaller business, the potential impact of our actions is huge. More importantly, the influence that our core-values have on shaping business decisions that ultimately determine whether our impact is positive or to the detriment of society! “You’re either part of the solution or you're part of the problem” - we have a choice #simples In April 2023 we finally achieved full B Corp status and in doing so joined a select group of companies globally, very few of which are in the staffing sector. Refreshingly the last 12 months have seen other peers in the sector choose to pursue a similar path and this can only be a good thing. In just over 2 years as a B Corp, I have seen the community continue to grow considerably. To date I have attended 7 B Corp events in 4 countries and am encouraged by the sheer diversity of the group, hailing from almost every sector, unified to make a positive difference in their field. B Corp is more than a badge. Ironically, in hindsight, getting certified was the easy part. Where the real impact lies is in the community. Shared knowledge, collaboration and collective action are what is driving the change. B Corp is the embodiment that you can balance working with purpose, enact change, feel as though you are contributing to part of the solution and make money along the way.
